She was adopted into a mortal family where she lived until she turned 18. She lived a life of luxury and horses – never wanting for anything.At 18, curious about her true family, she started doing some research and when the search turned up nothing, in deep despair she started wandering the countryside. As night fell, she found herself lost with the only option to lay down in the forest she had wandered into. It was the most amazing forest. The trees seemed to sing her to sleep, and she felt an overwhelming sense of security.In the morning, she continued to wander and found herself a collection of tombstones in a clearing deep within the area of thick trees. When she reached out to touch one of them, a woman appeared. Frightened, Ivy fell back, finding herself sitting on another tombstone.The woman thanked Ivy for coming and indicated that she had sent for her. The two sat together and the woman shared the story of Ivy’s lineage. Finally, she introduces herself as Ivy’s grandmother. Although confused, she felt more “at home” with this woman, and in this place, than she had in all her previous 18 years. Her grandmother explained, this land, this farm, had been in her family for centuries but had become rundown after her mom’s passing. The forest, the lake, the house, and farm buildings were too much for most to care for.As she wandered out of the forest, she noticed a for sale sign and quickly called the number. She used money she had been saving over the years to purchase the property and began a passion project to restore the land of her family to its previous state of glory.The rest is history waiting to be written.
